The State of the South 1998 coverMDC’s 1998 The State of the South report offers a region-level analysis of 30-year trends in population, jobs, income, poverty, and education in the South, concentrating on how various segments of the region’s population are faring, with special attention to gender, ethnicity, and education levels.

The report includes recommendations for the region’s policymakers.
