Anna grew up in Lumberton, NC before attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar. She is currently an undergraduate student in her third year studying Public Policy and Organizational Leadership Development. At UNC, Anna serves as the Vice President of APPLES Service-Learning, an organization dedicated to connecting students to community service opportunities. She also serves on the Student Union Board of Directors, which is a representative group of leaders from the undergraduate and graduate student body. Following graduation, Anna hopes to receive a master’s degree in public policy and pursue a career in nonprofit management.

Prior to joining MDC, Anna spent the summer in Kanchanaburi, Thailand interning for OurLand, where she learned about human-wildlife conflict and taught environmental education. Anna joined MDC in August 2023 and is excited to grow her knowledge in nonprofit capacity building and support the rural south.
