Jeremy James
Program Associate
Jeremy James supports our work on organizational capacity building through the MDC Rural Forward Program.
Professor James is a PhD candidate at North Carolina State University in their sociology program. During the semester of 2023-2024, he will be teaching about the impact of social problems in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.
Professor James completed his master’s degree in sociology & criminology at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2022. His latest research project (MA thesis) which explores social capital, mentorship, and colorblind racism within the K-12 system, found that African American children are more likely to choose external mentoring programs because internal (schools) showcased racial bias.
Jeremy joined MDC in May 2023.
