Kevin FitzGerald

Kevin has been a Senior Fellow at MDC since 2016. His focus areas include social design, health and human services collaboration, workforce development, and strategic planning.

Since retiring from the University of North Carolina System as Senior Vice President, Kevin has been engaged in many projects related to these focus areas.

Kevin’s professional experiences include work at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he started the Center for Public Technology at the School of Government. He has also served as Special Assistant to the Chancellor and Vice Dean for Finance and Administration and Chief of Staff at the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health Care System.

Before his service in Higher Education, Kevin directed the North Carolina Division of Social Services and served as Assistant County Manager of Forsyth County, North Carolina.

Kevin has a Master’s in Public Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the College of the Holy Cross and St. Paul University.  He is completing a Doctorate in Design from North Carolina State University.
